OCR: Blobal Neburg Ostrich eggs put to good use The San people of the Kalahari desert live in an arid environment where water is scarce. In order to carry water around, these people have traditionally not had the technology to produce glass containers, and they often use empty ostrich eggs to carry water. Ostrich egg shells are far thicker than the shells of hen's eggs, and this San tribesman is blowing' the contents of an ostrich egg so that it can be used as a water container.
